ONR steam locomotive #503 hasn’t been fired up in more than 50 years, we're looking to change that by restoring and rebuilding it and returning it to service as a heritage rail attraction.

We’re a small ad hoc group interested in preserving the area’s rail history who began discussing the idea of bringing #503 back to life a couple of years ago. Since then we’ve held a public meeting, consulted with a number of experts in the heritage railway field, obtained permission to access the locomotive to conduct exploratory engineering work and started the formation of a non-profit organization to oversee this project. You’ll be hearing more from us throughout 2019 as we work our way through pthe first phase pf this project.
